We decided to collect all the most important esports tournaments in various disciplines in 2025. This material will help you navigate the competition schedule and not miss the biggest events.
Esports World Cup 2025
Let’s start with the largest and longest event, namely the Esports World Cup 2025 festival. There is no exact information about the duration, but it is expected to take at least two summer months.
EWC 2025 will feature tournaments in 24 disciplines. Currently, only the dates of the Counter-Strike 2 championship have been confirmed, which will be held on August 20-24 and will have a prize pool of $1.25 million. The total prize pool of all championships will be at least $30 million, so this event is worth watching.
Currently, CS2, Honor of Kings, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, Free Fire, Street Fighter 6, DOTA 2, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG Mobile, Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC 25, Overwatch 2, Mobile Legends are confirmed for EWC 2025: Bang Bang, Rocket League, and chess.
League of Legends
Not only League of Legends fans should watch the 2025 World Championship (Worlds), especially the grand final. Riot Games organizes an incredible performance before the final match of the tournament, which gives a lot of emotions. For example, in 2024, there was a performance by Linkin Park.
Worlds 2025 is unlikely to be inferior in terms of organization to previous tournaments. The championship itself will be held in China for the third time. There are no exact dates yet, but it will be October-November 2025. The prize pool is expected to be around $2.25 million, as it was at previous events.
You should also not miss two international LoL tournaments that will precede Worlds 2025.
- First Stand 2025 (the tournament will be held for the first time) – March 10-16 in Seoul, South Korea.
- Mid-Season Invitational 2025 (a traditional LoL tournament that takes place in the middle of the season) will be held in Canada, with a start date of July 1, but no end date yet.
It is also possible that the League of Legends championship will be held as part of the Esports World Cup 2025, as it was in 2024.
VALORANT
VALORANT Champions 2025 will bring the main tournament of this discipline back to Europe. The championship will be hosted by Paris, France, and will take place from September 12 to October 5. The event will be the culmination of the 2025 season and will determine the strongest VALORANT team in 2025.
Two VCT 2025: Masters. The first tournament will be held on February 20-March 2 in Bangkok, Thailand, and the second one will take place on July 7-22 in Toronto, Canada.
Counter-Strike 2
The year 2025 will be one of the most difficult in history for Counter-Strike 2 teams, as it is overloaded with Tier 1 events, 28 of which are expected to be held. But the CS majors stand out the most here.
It is known that the first BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 will be held in the American city of Austin on June 9-22. But earlier, HLTV wrote about the possible expansion of the major to 32 teams, which will add one stage and make the tournament last a week longer. This information is partially confirmed by the fact that BLAST has published a new teaser for the Austin Major 2025 with CS2. The description indicates that the tournament will start on June 2, although the championship is scheduled to start on June 9.
It is not yet known who will host the second major, it is scheduled for December 1-14, and there are no further details. According to rumors that have been circulating for months, the Ukrainian tournament operator StarLadder may host the second major in 2025.
Of course, the tournaments in Katowice (Poland) and Cologne (Germany) have already become classics for CS. These tournaments are held annually and cause no less excitement among fans than the majors.
- IEM Katowice 2025: January 29 – February 9
- IEM Cologne 2025: July 23 – August 3
Dota 2
The International has been held annually since 2011, but there was no tournament in 2020 due to the covid pandemic. Next year’s TI has not yet been announced, as it is usually done after the beginning of the year. But given that The International takes place in early fall, we should expect the tournament to be held in September-October.
In total, at least 15 Tier-1 Dota 2 tournaments will be held in 2025. However, it is expected that the number will increase by several events.
Apex Legends
ALGS: 2024 Championship will take place from January 29 to February 2 in Sapporo, Japan. The tournament will be the end of the entire Apex Legends competition season and will determine the strongest team. The prize pool of the tournament will be $2 million, and the winner will get $600 thousand.
Rainbow Six Siege
The 2024 Rainbow Six Siege competition season will end with the final tournament, Six Invitational 2025. The championship will be held on February 3-16 in Boston, USA. The prize pool distribution is not yet known, but it is known that $3 million will be played at the event.
BLAST R6 Major November 2025 has already been announced for 2025. It is now known that the championship will be held in November and will feature 16 teams, but there are no more details yet.
PUBG Mobile
The PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 will be the final tournament of the season, which all teams in the discipline are striving to get to. It was recently announced that the tournament will take place from November 1 to December 1 in Thailand. No more details have been announced yet.
Another of the Tier 1 tournaments on PUBG Mobile will be World Cup 2025 and Global Open 2025. The first one will be held as part of EWC 2025 on July 1-August 1, and the second one will take place in the spring in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
PUBG
Currently, PUBG developers have not yet published their plans and schedule for 2025. We should expect it in the near future during the PUBG Global Championship 2024. Therefore, it is difficult to say when the biggest tournament of this battle royale will be held next year. However, given that PGC 2025 will be the final championship of the season, it will be held in December, just like this year.
Fighting games
As for the Evolution Championship Series (EVO), which is the world’s largest fighting game e-sports event, it will take place on October 10-12 in Nice, France. There will be championships in Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, and FATAL FURY: City of Wolves.
A Street Fighter 6 tournament has also been announced for EWC 2025, but no further details have been revealed. We can also expect that EWC will include a Tekken 8 championship, as it was in 2024.
Also, Capcom Cup 11 in SF6 was announced as a major fighting game tournament with a prize pool of $1.28 million. The championship will be held in Tokyo on March 3-8, 2025.
